Rides 4 Refugees is Looking for Difference-Makers!

Do you want to create a lasting impact in the lives of our newest neighbors?  At Rides 4 Refugees, you can help families move to independence through reliable transportation.

As our mission continues to grow, we’re seeking passionate, caring volunteers to join our team in the following areas. Whether you have a few hours a month or more  to give, your involvement truly matters.

Teach driving skills and make a difference in someone’s life

Driver Training Support 

Location: Central Ohio

Type: Driving Coach

Qualifications: Driver’s license along with confidence and patience to work with new drivers

Time: Few hours per week

Length: 3 months

Details: Using a Rides 4 Refugee vehicle, train a refugee client to drive and obtain their driver's license.  This requires multiple sessions and close communication with the client for scheduling. 

Help a refugee purchase a vehicle with confidence

Vehicle Purchase Assistance

Location: Central Ohio

Type: Hands on Vehicle Shopping / Negotiating / Guiding

Qualifications: Experience with vehicle mechanical systems and purchase and negotiation process helpful

Length: 2-4 weeks

Details: Help a refugee client who has their driver's license and is ready to buy a reliable a used vehicle, to visit dealerships and search sale offerings, test drive, and support the purchase. Mileage reimbursed.

Vehicle Repair Assistance Support 

Location: Central Ohio

Type: Consulting and supporting along with some minor vehicle service

Qualifications: Experience with vehicle mechanical systems and working with repair shops

Length: on going as needed

Details: Work with client and vetted repair shops to diagnose and repair client’s vehicle.  Also develop plans to refurbish donated vehicles.

Create Fun, Meaningful, and Memorable Events all for a Good Cause

Event Organizer – Fund Raising

Location: Central Ohio

Type: Planning and Organizing

Qualifications: Organized, creative, and dependable individual who is passionate about planning meaningful events that bring people together and support our mission

Length: 3 months

Details: Help plan and run engaging fundraising and community events in partnership with the R4R leadership team.
